Dear New Life 91.9
Listener,
It is with humble amazement that we look back on the past 12 months to see
just some of what God has done through New Life
91.9.
-
Over 140,000 different
people are influenced weekly by the life-changing message of Jesus
Christ that we broadcast.
-
Above and beyond that,
New Life 91.9 was in front of almost
50,000 people at concerts and events last year, most of these hearing a
clear presentation of the Gospel.
-
We stood together for life
during the Carolinas’ Largest Baby Shower in January, where thousands of
items and dollars were given to local crisis pregnancy centers.
Marriages were strengthened through a marriage seminar
New Life 91.9 presented. Many
struggling families were shown the love of Jesus in tangible ways at
Christmas time during our “Spirit of Giving.”

We were all challenged to
reach out to some of the neediest children in the world through
Compassion International – well over 700 kids have been sponsored by
New Life 91.9 listeners since we
began this a few years ago.

And, thousands of free Bible
reading schedules were shared with people all over the area through
their churches, drawing listeners into a deeper relationship with God.
 I could go on and on, but
here is what those wonderful numbers really mean: Real people!
Kate wrote us saying, “In the year since I’ve started listening to
New Life 91.9, I have grown so much
closer to God. Listening to your station whet my appetite for Him.”
Similarly, Kristen said, “Through this station, I am reminded that God
cherishes me and that has had a tremendous impact in my life and how I
live.” Then there is Karen, who sent a gift in memory of her son who died
over a year ago. She said the message of New Life
91.9 has really changed her perspective on life.
Because of God’s faithfulness
to this ministry through many listeners, we will soon be celebrating 16
years of making a lasting difference in this community. But, we are just
getting started. To quote a Chris Tomlin song, “greater things are still
to come and greater things are yet to be done” in this city.
Now, however, we face the challenge of a significant downturn in giving.
Some listeners who have supported us in the past are now unable to give.
Or, they are giving less. As a result of this downturn, we have taken
specific steps to respond to the situation that will help us move forward
as wise stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us.
It is very important that
we continue to be transparent with you regarding our financial matters.
In years past, we have made you aware of times when our budget was running
short, and we have also made you aware in those years when our budget was
completely fulfilled. It is with that spirit that I wanted to let you know
some of the steps we have taken.

The staff of
New Life 91.9 is donating one day’s
wage monthly back to the station (or taking one day off per month
without pay.);
-
We are laying off our
part-time staff and two full-time staff;
-
We have cancelled our annual
music research although it is a key to keeping our music the best it can
be;
-
We cut expenses for
marketing and advertising of New Life 91.9
to the public.
As you can imagine, for a
station that operates on a budget approximately 1/10th the size of other
stations in town, these strategic cuts will have a significant impact on
the ministry. However, we remain just as committed to our mission as ever.
God has given us a mission, and we will continue to pursue it with our
whole hearts.

God will bless it and use it mightily, and that He will provide for the
