How long have you lived in the
Carolinas?
About 18 years
How do you spend your weekends?
Sleep in on Sat because my husband gets up with the boys,
either hang out at the house or go do something with family
and work in the evening. Sunday we go to church and find
something to do together.
Who are your favorite musicians?
It really depends on the place I am in my life.
Right now I would say Point of Grace.
What is your favorite song?
Toby Mac's I was made to Love You.
Favorite book?
Grace Chapel Inn series from Guideposts
Favorite movie?
Don't see many, but I really like Shall We Dance? and
the National Treasure ones
What is your favorite area restaurant?
Sonny's, Sticky Fingers and LePeep
Where would your dream vacation be?
Following route 66 in an RV and taking out time to do it.
What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
Sleep in, play outside and scrapbook
What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who pull out in front of me when there are no cars
behind me, and greedy people who take advantage of others
How has God used New Life 91.9
in your life?
Oh, my goodness, where to start? First, I went to CIU
when it was CBC. I remember praying about this station and
seeing God make it happen piece by piece. By the time I got
out of college, I was "burnt out" with Christian surroundings,
so I didn't begin to listen to 91.9 right away. I even quit
going to church for a while. A few years after getting married
I was pregnant with our first son. I knew I wanted to raise my
children in a Christian home but knew I hadn't created that
kind of environment, so it was time to make a change. I
started listening to the very station I helped pray into being
and was hooked. In the last nine years, I have heard verses
that were what I needed to hear when I needed to hear them. I
listened to programs which spoke to me about an area in my
life that needed changing, and the songs.... countless times
the right song came on just when I needed to hear it. I have
so many songs that are "my songs" and they give testimony to
the changes I have gone through in my life. 91.9 has been
there through thick and thin, ups and downs, good and bad.
Now, my 8 year old only wants to listen to 91.9. He goes to
sleep with it on. He wakes up to it, he sings to it, he shares
info that he heard on it. When a song that he likes comes on
he wants me to turn up the music, which, by the way, is his
favorite song right now. My almost 6 year old loves your
station and is notorious for singing the songs he likes while
riding in the shopping cart or while standing in line
somewhere. The positive influence your station has on my
family is a confirmation to me that God uses all of you to
make a difference in others' lives.
