The Haiti Missions Ministry of Providence United Methodist Church will present the 6th annual Haiti Attic Sale & Live Auction, Saturday, August 24, beginning at 7:00 a.m. at the church, located at 2810 Providence Road in Charlotte.
This giant event offers approximately 25,000 square feet of merchandise that is collected throughout the year and organized by volunteers.
The Attic Sale (7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) will include furniture, home décor, kitchen items, children’s clothing and equipment, toys, books, linens, garden tools, holiday items, sporting goods, and a ladies’ boutique.
The Live Auction, new to this year’s event, will be conducted by Col. Brandon Desourdy (NCAL 9457) of Piggybank Auctions and will begin at 2:00 p.m. The auction will include premium items including antiques, jewelry, oriental rugs and art that may be previewed during the Attic Sale.
The Attic Sale will accept only cash as payment; the Live Auction will accept both cash and bank cards.
The proceeds from both events will benefit the people of Haiti through the continuation of several Providence UMC initiatives in Haiti including the School of Mercy in Carmillot, the Tovar Medical Clinic in Northern Haiti, the building of wells in rural communities, and the Microcredit Lending Program that enables Haitian women to grow their own businesses.
